Death

Scaled photo trees Spokane 008
death
I know you are with me
a constant companion
you have taken my mother, father
and now my best friend
I want to be bigger than my grief
transcend the loss
make it into philosophical sandwiches
to serve with tea
I can only shout, shake my fists
my friend is dead
her body turned to ash
I weep
and bow my head
